ObjectivesÂ
- Provide an overview of key ESG and climate regulatory developments relevant for 2026, both globally and in Indonesia.Â
- Discuss how these regulations affect corporate compliance, disclosure, and sustainability strategies.Â
- Equip participants with practical insights and tools to prepare their organizations for upcoming ESG and climate policy changes.Â
BackgroundÂ
As sustainability becomes a defining element of global business competitiveness, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices are no longer optional. In Indonesia, corporations are increasingly expected to align with ESG and climate-related regulations, not only to comply with government policies but also to secure investor confidence, maintain market relevance, and contribute to national climate commitments.Â
Heading into 2026, the ESG and climate regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly. Globally, new disclosure standards—such as those from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)—are shaping corporate governance and sustainability reporting frameworks. At the national level, Indonesia is advancing regulatory instruments such as carbon pricing, Just Energy Transition frameworks, and mandatory ESG disclosures for listed companies.Â
This workshop aims to unpack these developments and help Indonesian corporations understand, anticipate, and adapt to the ESG and climate policy landscape of 2026. It brings together thought leaders, corporate practitioners, and policymakers to discuss implications, challenges, and actionable steps for businesses.
