Objectives
- To introduce key concepts and frameworks for measuring social and biodiversity impacts.
- To explain why impact measurement is critical for credible sustainability and ESG strategies.
- To discuss practical tools and indicators used in social and biodiversity impact assessment.
- To support organizations in strengthening transparency, accountability, and impact reporting.
Background
As sustainability commitments expand, organizations are increasingly expected to demonstrate not only environmental performance, but also measurable social and biodiversity impacts. Investors, regulators, and stakeholders now demand credible evidence of outcomes rather than high-level commitments or qualitative narratives.
Measuring social and biodiversity impact presents unique challenges, including data availability, methodological consistency, and the integration of qualitative and quantitative indicators. Emerging frameworks, standards, and disclosure requirements are shaping how companies assess and communicate their impacts across value chains and project activities.
This workshop will focus on practical approaches to measuring social and biodiversity impact. By examining commonly used frameworks, indicators, and real-world applications, the session aims to help participants better understand how impact measurement can support decision-making, risk management, and credible sustainability reporting.
