Objectives
- Explain key concepts and frameworks for smart and sustainable infrastructure development.
- Provide an overview of infrastructure strategies that support energy efficiency, clean energy integration, and urban resilience.
- Highlight policy, technical, and implementation considerations for resilient, low-emission urban systems.
Background
Urban infrastructure systems are under increasing pressure from rising energy demand, climate risks, and rapid urbanization. The transition toward smart and sustainable infrastructure is essential to improve energy efficiency, integrate clean energy, and enhance the resilience of cities to climate and economic shocks.
In Indonesia, digital technologies, smart grids, and integrated infrastructure planning are increasingly being deployed to support the energy transition. However, aligning infrastructure investments with long-term resilience and decarbonization goals requires coordination across sectors, clear policy direction, and practical implementation frameworks.
This workshop will examine how smart and sustainable infrastructure can support resilient urban development and accelerate the energy transition, with a focus on practical design, governance, and implementation approaches.
