Objectives
- Explain key emissions sources across F&B and FMCG value chains.
- Highlight decarbonization strategies and tools applied by leading FMCG companies.
- Discuss implementation, data, and supplier engagement challenges.
Background
The food and beverage (F&B) and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors face growing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across complex and global value chains, including raw material sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and retail. Rising regulatory requirements, buyer expectations, and carbon-related trade measures are accelerating the need for credible and cost-effective decarbonization strategies.
In Indonesia, F&B and FMCG companies must navigate challenges related to supply chain emissions, data availability, and implementation at scale. Leading multinational companies such as Unilever have developed structured approaches to emissions reduction, supplier engagement, and product-level interventions that offer practical insights for the sector.
This workshop will examine decarbonization strategies in the F&B and FMCG sectors through insights from Unilever, focusing on value-chain emissions management, operational practices, and implementation lessons.
