Objectives
This workshop will share insights and best practice for industry proponents on how to participate in Indonesia’s domestic carbon market, including registering and validating carbon projects. It is based on work conducted by Yayasan Bina Usaha Lingkungan under UNDP’s Global Climate Promise initiative to support the design and validation of several projects.
Background
Under UNDP’s Climate Promise initiative, Yayasan Bina Usaha Lingkungan has been actively working with several companies to help them understand how to register and validate their mitigation activities as carbon projects in the SRN-PPI. Through its work with nearly 10 project proponents from diverse sectors—including agriculture, chemicals, palm oil, fertilizers, and manufacturing—the foundation has gathered valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by companies to register their projects for the domestic carbon market.
This session will share these insights and lessons learned during the project development and validation process and will highlight key considerations to take into account to ensure success.
