SUMMARY:The importance of community involvement in carbon markets
DESCRIPTION:Objectives \nThe objective of this inFUSE Accelerator workshop is to explore how communities can participate in carbon markets and provide examples with concrete actions and recommendations.  \nBackground \nThe carbon market has been garnering a lot of interest in Indonesia. That there are 3\,878 pending applications for registration in the national carbon registry (SRN) is a testament to this. With significant interest from many stakeholders\, it is important to ensure that activities developed bring tangible benefits to local communities\, particularly those directly impacted by carbon projects.  \nFocusing on the local community not only benefits the surrounding area\, but also creates higher value for the proposed carbon project.
