SUMMARY:Powering the Future: The Role of Green Hydrogen for Climate Action and Economic Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Objectives\nBy bringing together experts\, policymakers\, and practitioners\, this workshop aims to spark collaborative action and scale up the role of green hydrogen as a clean\, reliable\, and locally adaptable energy solution for Indonesia’s future. \nBackground\nAs Indonesia works toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2060\, green hydrogen is gaining attention as a strategic clean energy solution. Unlike conventional hydrogen\, which is derived from fossil fuels and emits carbon in the production process\, green hydrogen is produced using renewable energy sources\, resulting in near or zero emissions. This makes it a vital component in Indonesia’s sustainable energy transition. \nThis workshop\, led by a green hydrogen-focused organization\, aims to promote the adoption of green hydrogen with near-zero emissions in production\, supporting Indonesia’s climate goals. A central theme of the discussion will be the implementation of good practices and core principles in green hydrogen production—ensuring it is not only clean but also safe\, efficient\, and scalable. \nParticipants will also explore the differences between various hydrogen sources—green\, blue\, and grey hydrogen—highlighting the environmental and economic implications of each pathway. Understanding these differences is essential for informed decision-making and policy development in the energy sector. \nThe workshop will further focus on identifying feasible applications of green hydrogen in Indonesia\, tailored to local contexts. Potential uses include powering remote communities\, fueling industrial processes\, and providing clean alternatives in transportation. These examples will help demonstrate how green hydrogen can be realistically integrated into existing systems. \nSpeakers\nRifan Bachtiar\, GH2 Country Manager \nAlvianni Nur Mahmudah\, Neyen Consulting \nAgenda\n09.00 – 09.30 Registration and coffee\n09.30 – 09.35 Welcoming remarks\, Neyen\n09.35 – 09.45 Introduction to Green Hydrogen\, Neyen \nWorkshop\n09.45 – 10.25 Powering the Future: the Role of Green Hydrogen for Climate Action and Economic Resilience\, Rifan Bachtiar\, GH2\n10.25 – 11.05 Q&A\n11.05 – 11.20 Closing and photo session\n11.20 – 12.00 Networking session \nWhen and where?\n24th April\, 09:00 – 12:00 WIB \nWeWork Noble House – 29th Floor\, Meeting Room 29D (Access via 30th Floor) \nWho should attend?\nThis workshop is designed for the private sector\, government officials\, NGOs\, research institutions/universities and intergovernmental organizations that are committed to advancing sustainability initiatives.
