SUMMARY:inFUSE Indonesia: Restoration and Carbon Projects
DESCRIPTION:Objectives \n\nTo explain the role of ecosystem restoration in climate mitigation and carbon project development. \nTo provide an overview of carbon project approaches linked to restoration activities. \nTo discuss scientific\, regulatory\, and implementation of considerations in restoration-based carbon projects. \nTo explore opportunities and challenges in scaling restoration initiatives with measurable climate and biodiversity outcomes. \n\nBackground \nEcosystem degradation continues to pose significant risks to climate stability\, biodiversity\, and community livelihoods. Restoration of forests\, peatlands\, mangroves\, and other ecosystems has gained increasing attention as a pathway to address climate change while delivering co-benefits for biodiversity and social outcomes. As a result\, restoration is increasingly linked to carbon project development under voluntary and compliance carbon market mechanisms.  \nHowever\, developing carbon projects based on restoration activities requires robust scientific baselines\, credible monitoring and reporting systems\, and alignment with evolving regulatory and methodological standards. In Indonesia\, where restoration potential is significant\, ensuring environmental integrity and long-term sustainability remains a critical challenge.  \nThis workshop will examine restoration-based carbon projects from a scientific and implementation perspective. Drawing on research insights\, the session will highlight how restoration initiatives can be designed to generate credible carbon benefits while supporting biodiversity recovery and broader sustainability objectives.  \nAgenda\n\n\n\nTime \nTopic \nResource Persons \n\n\n09.00 – 09.30  \nRegistration  \n  \n\n\n09.30 – 09.35  \nWelcoming Remarks  \nNEYEN Consulting  \n\n\n09.35 – 09.50  \nOpening: introduction inFUSE \nModerator  \n\n\n09.50 – 10.30  \nKeynote address  \nSpeaker\n\n\n10.30 – 11.05  \nDiscussion Session (Q&A)  \nAll participants  \n\n\n11.05 – 11.20  \nClosing and Photo Session  \n  \n\n\n11.20 – 12.00 \nNetworking Session \n  \n\n\n\nTargeted Participants \n\nCorporate sustainability and climate teams \nCarbon project developers and market participants \nGovernment agencies and policymakers \nResearchers and practitioners in restoration and conservation \nInvestors and financial institutions \nNGOs and development organizations \n\nMore information   \ninFUSE Community Support: +62 813-1318-227
